Envivio Demonstrates Encoders with Minerva Networks Middleware and ADB Set-Top Boxes for Complete SD/HD MPEG-4 IPTV Solution

AVC/H.264 IPTV Solution with Leading Picture Quality SD and HD Encoders, Feature Rich Middleware and Advanced Set-top Boxes to be Showcased at TelcoTV 2006

South San Francisco, CA – November 1, 2006 – Envivio Inc., the leading technology provider of IP video convergence solutions from mobile to HD, demonstrates its SD and HD encoders with Minerva Networks iTVManager middleware and the latest generation of AVC/H.264 set-top boxes from Advanced Digital Broadcast (ADB) to provide a complete MPEG-4 IPTV solution targeting the Independent Operator Company (IOC) market.  Showcasing the interoperability of MPEG-4 products, the solution will be demonstrated in the Envivio booth #813 at TelcoTV 2006 from November 6-8.  This MPEG-4 IPTV solution is ideal for IOCs seeking the benefits of the latest industry standard video compression technology and the market leading Minerva Networks middleware.

Due to low bandwidth consumption and its IP-friendly features, MPEG-4 has become the technology of choice for high definition and fixed-to-mobile converged services.  Field tested products from Envivio, Minerva Networks and ADB have been seamlessly integrated into a ready-to-use MPEG-4 IP video convergence solution that telcos can install with confidence.  Integrating the industry leading picture quality of Envivio 4Caster HD3 and B3 encoders with Minerva’s feature rich iTVManager software and the high definition MPEG-4 capabilities of ADB’s IPTV series of products allow operators to quickly deploy highly personalized TV, entertainment and advertising solutions.  This MPEG-4 IPTV solution is particularly beneficial for operators who want to deliver HD content at very low bandwidths with the highest video quality.

“Integrating the Envivio IP video encoders with our open, standards based platform was extremely easy and our customers will appreciate the quality of Envivio’s MPEG-4 encoding,” stated Mauro Bonomi, Chief Executive Officer, Minerva Networks.  “The benefits of MPEG-4 go beyond being able to offer high definition programming.  Not only does the lower bandwidth eliminate network bottlenecks that degrade video quality, but it also allows service providers to extend their network to reach more customers and cost effectively grow their businesses.”

“Given our proven ability to integrate new technologies rapidly and our dedication to the IPTV market, working with our partners Minerva and Envivio has allowed ADB to provide best-in-class AVC system solutions for our IPTV customers,” said Philippe Lambinet, CEO of ADB.  “We believe the quality and capabilities of the Envivio IP video products fit into that strategy.”

“Our IPTV customers have come to expect high quality and high performance IP video from Envivio,” said Julien Signès, President and CEO of Envivio Inc.  “Integrating our portfolio with market leaders such as Minerva and ADB provides our customers and their system integrators with more options to help them increase and retain subscribers.  Because at the end of the day, helping our customers increase revenues and save money while offering high quality video is what it’s all about.”
