Envivio Teams With Wavexpress to Develop Enhanced Content Delivery Tools for Broadcasters

Agreement covers joint product development, sales and marketing cooperation

Booth e2950, NAB 2001, Las Vegas, NV, Date: April 22, 2001 — Envivio.com, Inc, the leader in MPEG-4 broadcast software solutions and Wavexpress, a leading provider of integrated services to digital broadcasters, announced today that they will develop technology to offer a more powerful and complete data broadcast platform for creating and distributing MPEG-4 signals to both PC and TV clients. Sales, marketing and development
cooperation, including a reseller agreement, will lead to integrated product offerings. Content owners will add InterTrust-based business rules to their content through the normal editing process with Envivio Broadcast Studio, Envivio’s multi-user MPEG-4 authoring tool, which can then be distributed, cached for later viewing and purchased through TVTonic™, Wavexpress’ EMBASSY™-enabled broadcast platform. This partnership is another step in
Envivio’s strategy to assure the protection of AV and other content offered over broadband networks.

EnvivioTV™, Envivio’s MPEG-4 client software, will be integrated with Wavexpress’ TVTonic™. The companies will also explore the further integration of other Envivio software into the Wavexpress ADK, which would enable MPEG-4 based programming with DRM technology from InterTrust (and other DRM developers), and unique e-commerce models enabled by EMBASSY™.

“Envivio’s strategy for developing the MPEG-4 market involves working with the ‘best and brightest’ partners, content developers and resellers,” said Alexander Hoag, COO for Envivio. “We’re working with Wavexpress as part of a comprehensive partnership program that we hope will make Envivio products part of the best digital media solutions offered to the broadcast and cable network industries.”

“Envivio further extends the unique level of content protection Wavexpress provides to our digital broadcast customers,” said Wavexpress President Cliff Jenks. “Together, we are marketing an in-depth MPEG-4 datacasting solution that answers digital broadcasters’ needs today.”

Visit Envivio at NAB at Booth e2950 in the E-Topia area at the Sands Exhibition center, April 22-27, 2001. Wavexpress will be showing TVTonic in the Microsoft Partner Pavilion, Booth I 5612, April 23-27.
