Envivio Brings to Market Complete and Powerful Next Generation of MPEG-4 Product Line
More Advanced, Powerful, and Full Featured
South San Francisco, Calif., September 9, 2002 -- Envivio Inc., a leading provider of end-to-end MPEG-4 broadcast and streaming solutions, today introduced the next generation of its product line to create, distribute, and deliver quality MPEG-4 content. Envivio’s complete suite of MPEG-4 solutions will be showcased at the upcoming IBC exhibition in Amsterdam, Netherlands, September 13th-17th, 2002 and are available to be shipped today.
Envivio’s complete suite of products including Live Broadcaster, Broadcast Studio, Streaming Server, Encoding Station and EnvivioTV, are designed to produce, manage, stream, and playback interactive rich media based on the ISO MPEG-4 and ISMA standards. The new products bring together a set of unique features that make the Envivio products the most advanced and complete MPEG-4 software solution. Ease-of-use has also been increased across the entire family of products, making it more intuitive and easier for customers to harness the power and benefits of MPEG-4 without investing in specialized training or resources.
“We have more than 100 customers around the globe who are already using our products for applications including IP-TV, corporate communications, live broadcasting, surveillance, and archiving” said Julien Signes, President and CTO of Envivio. “Envivio’s next generation of products, which are available now, provide even more power and functionality to enhance the way broadcast, broadband, content developers, and corporations communicate and offer them the benefits that only a standard such as MPEG-4 can offer.”
Envivio has introduced a new javascript based scripting feature to Broadcast Studio, with an intuitive User Interface, which allows the post production and web design communities to create contents with video, animation and interactivity never possible before in such an intuitive environment. The bandwidth optimization tool has been further refined in order to stream mixed media presentations at a constant bit rate over IP and broadcast networks. It broadens the scope of animation and interactivity that content designers and service providers can add into their MPEG-4 compliant applications and content, and offers even more flexibility to deploy those contents over a wide range of networks and service platforms.
Live Broadcaster and Encoding Station now provide support for Advanced Simple Profile encoding. This profile improves the quality of the encoded stream for a given bandwidth, or decreases the bandwidth of streams with a constant quality.
The Encoding Station is a unique tool for offline encoding of content for on demand consumption or storage. Additionally increase compression efficiency
Envivio is also one of the only companies to offer MPEG-4 advanced simple live encoding with the Live Broadcaster, an ideal solution for corporate communications, e-learning applications, and professional broadcast. A flexible media push tool has been added to Live Broadcaster, which allows the broadcaster to “push” objects like text and images out during the course of the live session.
The Envivio Streaming Server now integrates further optimizations for streaming efficiently on demand video and multimedia MPEG-4 content. This new generation Server provides significant performance improvements, with support for Gigabit Ethernet streaming on standard Intel based servers, more powerful web administration, and enhanced authentication and authorization features.
Finally EnvivioTV, has also been released with Advanced Simple profile support and performance improvements. Thanks to its unique portable architecture, the player is now available for Windows Media, QuickTime, and Real plug-ins as well as on Linux and Pocket PC devices. Furthermore, the player has been ported to various consumer devices to enable universal MPEG-4 deployments.
Envivio’s complete suite of MPEG-4 next generation products will be showcased at the IBC exhibition in Amsterdam, Netherlands, September 13th-17th, Hall 4 Booth 4.258.
