Kreatel and Envivio Join Forces to Provide MPEG-4 Solutions
LINKÖPING, SWEDEN, September 10, 2002 -- Kreatel Communications AB, a leading supplier of IP-based set-top box (STB) systems, and Envivio, leading provider of MPEG-4 broadcast and streaming solutions team together to provide broadcasters and Telcos with MPEG-4 streaming solutions.
Kreatel and Envivio will be at the IBC2002 in Amsterdam to show their joint solution demonstrating an MPEG-4 chain. The content is encoded and distributed by Envivio’s software to the TV via the Kreatel IP-STB 700, a new series of IP-STBs with hardware decoding of MPEG-1, 2 and 4 in the same unit. Envivio provides the software to encode content in both live and off line mode, with high quality for broadcasters, telecommunications companies and corporate communication markets.
MPEG-4, with its low bandwidth requirements, is the perfect match for xDSL technologies making it possible to extend the reach of high quality TV and video delivery over existing networks. The Kreatel IP-STB 700 series has already been shipped and are in commercial operation at end users today.
