Envivio Announces Support of Intel PCA to Take MPEG-4 Mobile

South San Francisco, Calif., September 18, 2002 -- Envivio, Inc., a leading provider of end-to-end MPEG-4 broadcast and streaming solutions, today announced their support of the Intel® Personal Internet Client Architecture (Intel PCA) to bring MPEG-4 content to next generation wireless and mobile devices based on the Intel® XScale technology.

The Intel XScale technology delivers advanced integration, leadership multimedia performance and superior power savings for full-featured wireless cell phones, communicators, and PDAs. Envivio provides powerful, full-featured MPEG-4 software to create, distribute and deliver quality MPG-4 content.

“We have been working closely with Intel to optimize EnvivioTV for XScale processors based on the Intel XScale technology,” said Jonathan Fram, CEO of Envivio. “The relationship of EnvivioTV and Intel XScale technology will help provide anyone with a PDA or mobile phone to access on-demand, high-quality MPEG-4 content anywhere at anytime.”

“Envivio, Inc. is the latest example of how Intel PCA speeds the deliver of exciting new applications and services to the wireless market segment,” said Mark Casey, director of marketing for Intel’s PCA Components Group. “We believe the power of Intel XScale technology, when combined with compelling content like that from Envivio, will make the mobile device even more compelling.”

The Intel XScale technology optimized EnvivioTV, was demonstrated on a commercially available Intel XScale technology based PDA at the Envivio booth during the IBC show in Amsterdam, September 13-17. Envivio was able to take advantage of the Intel XScale technology performance enhancements to offer a full-featured MPEG-4 player to display MPEG-4 video and mixed media content on any Intel XScale technology based PDA, mobile phone or consumer device. This complements the EnvivioTV offering on the PC and Set Top Box platforms, making MPEG-4 the universal media format of choice for video and data services.
