Integrated Triple Play Solution Delivered by IPlay3

Las Vegas, April 20, 2004 – IPlay3™, a consortium merging the market-leading VoIP, IP-TV, IP-VOD and billing technologies from Envivio™, NetCentrex™ and Highdeal, announced today the availability of an integrated residential triple play solution. Following the stunning success of the IPlay3 Consortium launch at VON 2004, the consortium is now ready to deliver the IPlay3 solution to service providers.
The IPlay3 solution brings new opportunities to service providers as they move to offer value-added voice and video services on top of a high-speed Internet offering. Components of the IPlay3 solution include:
- IP Video: Both Live TV and Video-on-Demand in a complete, high-performance video platform based on the leading-edge Main Profile H.264 standard and an integrated client portal based on MPEG-4 systems.
- IP Telephony: a standards-based (SIP/MGCP/H.323) carrier-grade, scalable platform delivering complete Class 5 and innovative voice-video interactive features
- Integrated Pricing and Billing: a flexible, triple play enabled, multi-tier platform providing pricing and packaging, high performance rating, billing, partner settlement, and profit simulation and analysis
- Subscriber Services: a portal framework enabling user access to delivered services
IP video is delivered using Envivio’s complete suite of 4Caster™ MPEG-4 AVC (also known as H.264) broadcast encoders, 4Sight™ interactive MPEG-4 streaming servers, and 4View MPEG-4 H.264 decoders. IP video services are delivered and managed using the 4Front™ MPEG-4 application server and client portal. Video services are the key to significant subscriber uptake and ARPU.

A key component to the IPlay3 solution is the 4Front™ subscriber-side portal framework. IP telephony is delivered using NetCentrex’ MyCall™ Residential solution, a true carrier-class VoIP platform leveraging all broadband networks worldwide with individual deployments exceeding 500,000 subscribers. It provides an instant network migration strategy, bridging existing and advanced IP networks. MyCall Residential delivers Class 5 telephony features, regulatory capabilities, and interactive services.
