Envivio Products First to Complete MPEGIF Logo Qualification Testing and Receive MP4 Qualification Mark

South San Francisco, CA, April 12, 2005 – Envivio Inc. announced today that its 4View™ Broadcast Series of professional decoders were the first MPEG-4 products in the industry to receive an MP4 Qualification Mark from the MPEGIF’s new testing program. The mark indicates which products from MPEGIF member companies have completed logo qualification testing for specified MPEG-4 profiles, codecs, and levels to ensure interoperability with similar products.

“The mission of MPEGIF is to further the adoption of MPEG Standards. As a part of this mission, we have established the Logo Qualification Program to ensure interoperability among products and technology from its member companies,” said Sebastian Moeritz, President of MPEGIF. “We congratulate Envivio on becoming the first vendor to be recognized by our new program.”

Potential customers of MPEG-4 technology can be assured that products carrying the qualification mark will interoperate with other standards based products. A list is available at http://logo.mpegif.org/products.php. Before making this list, products must undergo testing against standardized bit streams and qualified decoder products to confirm they work together under specific MPEG profiles and levels. Qualified products have the right to display the MP4 Qualification Mark and may list test results of qualification in their documentation, literature, and advertising.

“Interoperability is the key to the wide adoption of MPEG-4 technology. Envivio supports the new Logo Qualification Program and will be submitting all of our systems for certification,” Julien Signès, President and CTO of Envivio Inc. “Our systems are integrated into operational environments where interoperability is mandatory.”

The 4View™ Broadcast Series of professional decoders from Envivio provides real-time MPEG-4 decoding for D1 resolution at full frame rate video. Broadcasters and service providers deploy the 4view decoders today for fixed and mobile professional video contribution and primary distribution applications. 4View decoders are a key component of the company’s media transport solutions and are companion products to the 4Caster™ and 4Coder™ encoding systems. Features include support for AVC/H.264, Advanced Simple Profile (ASP), and Simple Profile (SP) video decoding as well as Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) and High Efficiency Advanced Audio Coding (HE AAC). The systems are available with front panel status displays, web-based remote management, digital or analog outputs and DVB-ASI input.
