CoConnect Selects Envivio MPEG-4 Systems for New IPTV and VOD Deployment Using Wireless Broadband
Las Vegas – May 12, 2005 – Envivio Inc., a leading technology provider of MPEG-4 (including AVC / H.264) systems, announced today that CoConnect, Inc. (OTC: CNTI), has selected a complete Envivio® delivery system for the deployment of its new Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) and video-on-demand (VOD) services. The Envivio systems will be used throughout the wireless broadband infrastructure from the headend to the home.
CoConnect, Inc. (OTC: CNTI), has developed and is deploying a 45Mbps broadband wireless Internet delivery system to deliver ultra high-speed wireless Internet, voice over Internet protocol (VOIP), and IPTV/VOD products and services. CoConnect's bandwidth is up to 30 times faster than today's current T-1 standards of 1.5Mbps. During 2005, CoConnect is deploying IPTV services expected to offer over 200 channels of television programming and VOD, allowing subscribers to select from a wide variety of content. CoConnect aims to allow its customers to view their favorite television programming and/ or movies from a Laptop, MAC, PC, PDA or cell phone anywhere within its metro mesh network.
Systems chosen by CoConnect include the 4Caster™ real-time encoder, the 4Sight™ video server, the 4Front™ service portal, and a scalable electronic programming guide and VOD service portal. Home users will be able to view VOD content with trick play (fast forward and rewind) features using either a 4View STB™ set-top box or using the Envivio TV player software on their PCs and Macs.
