Envivio Introduces New 4Stream IP Gateway for IPTV and Mobile TV Services Providers
Envivio All-IP Convergence Generation Video Headend Solution Increases Encoder Density, Provides Flexible Routing and Simplified Management
The
4Stream IP gateway is a dual receiver and demodulator which feeds IP video
networks with video services coming from satellite, cable, terrestrial networks. Each one rack unit (1RU) gateway receives encrypted
MPEG-2 streams and can process 2 full transponders, replacing up to 24 professional
decoders. The IP
outputs are received by Envivio C4 and/or M2 encoders. The Envivio 4Manager manages and monitors the
gateway as well as other components in the system via a comprehensive web
browser. The new IP gateway will be on
display in the Envivio booth #12105 at NAB2007.
“The
Convergence Generation headend with the new 4Stream IP gateway provides a full
end-to-end IP architecture from video reception to subscribers’ TVs or mobile
devices,” said Julien Signès, President and CEO of Envivio Inc. “The IP headend
architecture is a fundamental milestone for the video compression industry as
it meets the challenges posed by network convergence towards IP and the demand
by merged fixed line and mobile carriers for multiservice platforms.”
Envivio 4Caster C4 IP Video Encoder,
4Caster M2
The
Envivio 4Caster C4 is a 1RU multi-channel real time encoder which fits into an
IP-based ecosystem to receive, decode, encode, and transmit programming via
IP. The all-digital processing of
content eliminates the use of traditional intermediate analog or serial digital
interfaces (SDI) between decoders and encoders.
The 4Caster C4 supports MPEG-2 Transport Stream over IP input, MPEG-4
AVC/H.264 video and AAC audio encoding and configurable output
resolutions. The type of service and
available bandwidth can be matched with a variety of rate control choices such
as constant, available or capped variable bit rates (CBR, AVR, and VBR) to create
the most efficient compression schemes.
Envivio
4Caster M2 is a multi-rate, multi-resolution and multi-standard H.263/H.264
mobile TV encoder that outputs eight simultaneous profiles from a single video
input. Now in its third generation, M2
includes IP statistical multiplexing, WM9 support, IP input and CAS integration
capabilities. M2 delivers video to any
network, including 2.5G, 3G, and 3.5G networks, mobile broadcast networks such
as DVB-H, as well as next generation networks such as Wifi and Wimax. And, M2 offers extensive device support as
tested and verified by Envivio customers and partners and is compatible with
all popular network standards, including 3GPP, 3GPP2, DVB-H and ISDB-T.
Envivio
4Manager is a robust management system that supervises and monitors any device
throughout the entire network service flow offering redundancy mechanisms to
avoid single points of failure. Specifically
designed to work within the IP transport environment, 4Manager is ideally
suited to manage next generation video headends for mobile TV, IPTV, and
Internet TV in addition to traditional broadcast contribution and distribution
networks.
The
Convergence Generation headend is ideal for telco environments. Instead of perpetuating the use of costly and
complex broadcast systems in an IPTV network, the all-IP solution was designed
specifically for IPTV.
