DAB-IP Mobile TV Standard Approved

New Open Compression Technology will Mean Boom Time for Digital TV
MPEG4 part10, also called H.264 and AVC (Advanced Video Codec), is an open, global standard that offers twice the compression of today’s MPEG2 technology allowing for a multitude of digital channels and also high definition TV channels. Despite the competition and licensing issues that are slowing the adoption of H.264, high performance hardware encoders are being developed by chip vendors to support the new technology.
