Open Standards Transport
Envivio products conform to open standards-based specifications, including native IP streaming (Real Time Protocol, also known as RTP). This protocol provides the most efficient and flexible solution for real time streaming of video, audio and multimedia over IP networks, as well as avoiding otherwise costly MPEG-2 license fees for set-top boxes. Envivio solutions also support the MPEG-2 Transport Stream (MPEG-2 TS) protocol for compatibility with existing infrastructure deployments.
Since Envivio products and solutions are open standards-based, operators can select from the complete line of Envivio products or mix and match systems from other open standards-based vendors to deliver IPTV services.
